It is impossible not to notice the waterfall, passing the Yasinya-Rakhiv highway.
It is named after the right tributary of the same name called the Black Tisa. The Trufanets River, the channel of which is the source of the waterfall, originates from the subalpine belt at an altitude of just over 1,700 meters above the sea, at the foot of the famous Gemini Mountain in the Carpathians. The river makes a path for three kilometers and joins with the mighty stream of the Black Tisza River. The Trufanets waterfall with steep rocky massifs is the last threshold, overcome by the river before the confluence of the Tisza.
Trufanets is the highest natural waterfall in Transcarpathia. The height of this rock mass reaches 36 meters. Several cascades form the waterfall, and this is an amazing natural picture of extraordinary beauty. At the foot of the waterfall, for the best view, a wooden alcove was built, reminiscent of a fairy-tale forest house. Altanka is located at the point from which the beauty of Trufanets waterfall is revealed in full. You can get to it from the road in just a minute along the steps leading down.
