Photo and description

The Museum of Ethnography and Ecology of the Carpathian Region, which is located in Yaremche, is one of the largest and oldest museums that specializes in the study of ethnography and the development of crafts in the Carpathian Region. The museum dates back to the second half of the 19th century, when ethnographers began to actively research the region. At the same time, the first industrial and ethnographic exhibition was founded, which took place in Kolomyia and contributed to the popularization of the region. The works of traditional craftsmen of the region were presented at the exhibition - women's jewelry made of beads, embroidery, carvings and many other household items.

The museum itself was founded relatively recently - January 1, 2007. It was created on the basis of the Museum of Liberation Competitions of the Carpathian Region, which in turn was based on the site of the former Museum of Partisan Glory.

What is so special about this museum? Here you can get acquainted with the folk art of the Hutsul region, from the 17th century to the 20th century. Here you will see rare and valuable exhibits - traditional household items, ceramics, folk costumes. No less unique is the collection of pysnanki, which includes rare and valuable specimens of traditional pysnanki of this region. The museum also has an exhibition of works by the People's Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Bilas, namely his tapestries. Old traditional bedspreads and sackcloth amaze with their compositional solution.

This museum will be interesting to visit for both adults and children, because here you can touch the living history of Western Ukraine,
