Casina Vanvitelliana description and photos - Italy: Campaign. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photographs and a map showing the nearest significant objects. The name in English is Casina Vanvitelliana. Photo and descriptionCasina Vanvitelliana is a remarkable hunting lodge located on a small island on Lake Lago Fusaro in the commune of Bacoli in the Campania region of Italy. Until the middle of the 18th century, the area around the lake was poorly populated, and in 1752 it was declared a hunting ground by the Bourbons, who commissioned the famous architect Luigi Vanvitelli to transform the local area. The architect developed a grandiose project, which, alas, he was not destined to realize - the work was completed by his son, Carlo Vanvitelli. It was he who in 1782 built the Royal hunting lodge on the lake, some distance from the shore. In this house, which became known as the Casina Vanvitelliana, many prominent personalities stayed - the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire Francesco II, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini and President of the Italian Republic Luigi Einaudi. From an architectural point of view, Casina Vanvitelliana is one of the most notable buildings of the 18th century, in some way reminiscent of another hunting residence - Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi in Piedmont. It consists of three octagonal pieces, which are superimposed on each other in the shape of a pagoda. Huge windows are located on two levels, and a long wooden bridge connects Kazina to the lake shore. Casina Vanvitelliana has appeared in films several times: in the film "Ferdinando and Carolina" by Lina Wertmuller and in the film "Luca the Smuggler" by Lucio Fulci. As for Lake Lago Fusaro, it is known throughout the world for its huge oysters and mussels. On its shore, in addition to the Casin Vanvitelliana, there is a large restaurant and a park.
