Photo and description

Molveno is a picturesque village located on the shores of the lake of the same name at the foot of the Dolomiti di Brenta mountain range and has long been chosen by fans of active recreation. It is especially popular with rock climbers and hikers. In addition, Molveno is a great holiday destination for those looking for unity with nature or immersion in history. The crystal-clear waters of Lake Molveno reflect the imposing peaks of the Dolomiti di Brenta, while local landmarks such as the still-working 13th-century watermills or the Church of San Vigilio attract tourists.

The maximum depth of Lake Molveno is 123 meters, making it the deepest lake in the entire province of Trentino. The average depth ranges from 3 to 49 meters. The lake is 4-5 km long, and 1 wide 5 km and is considered the largest alpine lake located above 800 meters above sea level. Numerous rivers and streams flow into Molveno from the surrounding mountains. Its waters are home to a wide variety of fish species, including trout, arctic char and perch. On the shores of the lake, there are rabbits, chamois, deer and other animals.

In summer, Molveno offers various sports such as windsurfing or sailing, as well as fishing, river rafting or just swimming. Do not forget about walks along the lake, on the shore of which there is a parking lot for tents. And in the town itself there is a multifunctional center with volleyball and basketball courts, a gymnasium and a wall for training climbers.

In winter, Molveno becomes a paradise for downhill skiing and snowboarding. From here you can easily reach the Paganella ski area with its 50 km of pistes.
