Photo and description

The Bangalore Palace is located on the territory of the Palace Gardens, in the heart of the rich Indian city of Bangalore. The building was erected during the reign of the Vodeyar dynasty in 1887. It amazes with its splendor and luxurious decoration.

Built in the Tudor style, the Bangalore palace is replete with Gothic windows, battlements, and many fortified towers. The interior is adorned with intricate wood carvings and paintings, and is an amazing blend of Eastern and European styles. In the middle of the palace square is the courtyard, which is lined with blue fluorescent ceramic tiles. Next to the courtyard is a large and luxuriously decorated ballroom, where banquets were held in Tsarist times. Another unique hall is called Durbar Hall, it was intended for various meetings. Its walls are decorated with exquisite painting, and there is also a huge statue depicting the head of an elephant. On one of the walls of Durbar Hall there is a row of windows, which are trimmed with stained glass. All the inner palace chambers are full of bright colors, among which yellow, blue, red and green prevail.

Today, the palace serves as a venue for various holidays, festivals, conferences and exhibitions. It is also, of course, open to tourists.
