In 2004, the ex-governor of multinational Orenburg came up with the idea of creating a cultural complex that would unite all 18 ethnic groups - inhabitants of the region into a “National Village”. Already in the summer of 2005, the project began to be implemented by starting the construction of farmsteads and improving the territory. Ukrainians, Bashkirs and Kazakhs were the first to open the doors of ethnographic museums with libraries of national culture and restaurants of national cuisine in 2007. A year later, a Belarusian, German, Mordovian and Russian courtyard opened, and in 2009 the construction of the Chuvash, Tatars and Armenians was completed. In addition to museums and cafes, the buildings of the courtyard house the offices of public national organizations, which simplifies the region's policy in the field of interethnic relations and develops respect for the national cultures of all residents of Orenburg.

In a short time, the National Village has become a favorite family vacation spot for the townspeople. Next to each courtyard in the open air there are exhibits symbolizing the life and culture of peoples, and in the center of the architectural complex there is a fountain "Friendship", which shimmers with bright lights in the dark. National holidays, weddings, cultural events, performances of creative teams and many other events, inextricably linked with the life of the city, combines this unique cultural complex.

The multinational attraction of Orenburg is one of the tourist oases of Russia, where in one place you can get acquainted with the culture of almost all nationalities inhabiting the south of the Urals of Russia.
