The Science and Culture Center is a Costa Rican museum located in a former prison in San Jose. The prison functioned for about 60 years, but in 1979 it was closed. The museum within its walls was opened in 1994. The museum consists of several sections. For example, the Children's Museum is an interactive exhibition where children acquire important knowledge about the science and culture of their native country through play. The National Gallery includes several exhibitions - here you can see a collection of ceramics, graphics and other works of art. In addition, there is a Youth Center, and it is planned to open a prison museum.
