The palace of Prince G. Potemkin-Tavrichesky is one of the most beautiful buildings in Dnepropetrovsk, which amazes with its architecture and grace. His Serene Highness Prince Grigory Alexandrovich Potemkin-Tavrichesky was an outstanding personality, and played an important role in the development of both Russia and Ukraine. He became the founder of such cities as Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson and Nikolaev.

The palace-estate, which the Grand Duke built for himself in Dnepropetrovsk, became one of the first significant buildings in this city. Today it is not known exactly who was the architect who designed this magnificent building, but the authorship is attributed to the outstanding architect of that time I. Starov. The main building of the complex impressed with its magnificence, it included many ceremonial rooms and a huge ballroom.
