The State Museum-Reserve of the Russian poet M.Yu. Lermontov in Pyatigorsk, at 4 Lermontov Street, is the only attraction in Russia associated with his name that has survived in its original form.

The Museum-Reserve was founded in 1912. It is housed in the house where the poet spent the last months and wrote his last poems: "The Sea Princess", "Leaf" and others, which have become masterpieces of Russian literature. From here they buried Lermontov, who was killed during the duel. Over the long years of its existence, the house has practically not been damaged. The interior of the building was recreated according to the descriptions of the poet's friends and acquaintances.

The museum exposition consists of four sections and includes many original materials and personal belongings of Lermontov. In total, the museum has 58,500 exhibits, of which 30434 are items of the main fund. The following collections are of unique value in the museum-reserve: “M.Yu.
