Photo and description

Park "Del Po e Del Morbasco" was founded in 1999 on the left bank of the Po river, 2 km south of Cremona. In addition to the Po river itself, there are several water bodies in the park, which are mostly silted and not very deep streams (from half a meter to a meter deep) or quiet streams with a relatively rich floristic diversity. A thick thicket of duckweed spread between them. On the shores of Po, Morbasco and Cavo Mort, wild ducks, moorhenes, stilts nest, and above there are marsh and wide-tailed warblers. The vegetation of the park is represented by characteristic poplar thickets, as well as widespread trees on the Po plain - oaks, elms and silvery willows. There are also carob trees imported from America and well acclimatized in Northern Italy.

I must say that the park "Del Po e Del Morbasco", entirely located in the municipality of Gerre de Caprioli in the immediate vicinity of Cremona, has long become a favorite vacation spot for Cremonians who come here on weekends to take a walk. go for a bike ride or horseback ride; or just wander the street markets. The largest populated center of the park is the town of Bosco (about 900 inhabitants) - it lies on the left bank of the Po river opposite Izolone. There is a long, beautiful Luna Beach, where you can go in for various sports or fishing in the summer, and watch flocks of birds in the fall and winter.

On the very edge of the park is the Bugatti horse riding center with an architectural complex typical of Lombardy - a farmhouse with a courtyard. The complex was built in the 18th century and today is an important example of Cremona architecture (notable for its brickwork and corrugated tiles). The estate consists of a main building, rural buildings, factory stables, cattle yards, barns and a huge barn.

In addition, on the territory of "Del Po e Del Morbasco" you can find restaurants, taverns and colorful bars and clubs.
