Photo & Description

In the Zambezi Valley below the Kariba Dam, there are several safari regions that are home to elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and all kinds of antelope. Many are allowed to hunt with a permit from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Management. The hunting season usually runs from early May to late September and the Department can grant permits to approximately 200 hunters annually. Non-hunters are allowed to freely explore the reserve and photograph animals, fish in the Zambezi River or simply enjoy the excellent views. Another region where safari is permitted is Tuli, in southwestern Zimbabwe. Up to four people can hunt here at the same time. Hunting permits are granted for up to 10 days, the season is open from May 1st to September 30th.
