Oga is a small mountain village located within the famous Italian resort of Alta Valtellina at an altitude of 1550 meters above sea level and surrounded by some of the most beautiful alpine peaks - Ortles, Gran Zebra, Tercero, Cevedale, San Matteo, Confinale, Chimi Piazzi, etc. So far, Oga has not yet been affected by mass tourism and its attendant negative effects. On the contrary, here you can enjoy a calm and peaceful atmosphere and relaxation in the bosom of nature.

On the territory of this village there is a small peat bog, Paluaccio, protected by the state and of interest from the point of view of botany. I must say that today peat bogs have practically disappeared from the territory of Italy due to the constant processes of drainage and earthworks, and also due to climatic changes. But one of these rare ecosystems has survived in Oge. Unfortunately, unlike most of the peatlands in Northern Europe, Paluaccio is on the verge of extinction. Its natural state was disrupted by several dehumidification processes undertaken between 1920 and 1930. The swamp itself is surrounded by meadows, pastures and a coniferous forest, in which you can see pines, larch, fir and birch. And not far from Paluaccio is Fort Dossaccio, built between 1909 and 1912 to guard the borders with Austria.

Another attraction of Ogi is Fort Venini, which was abandoned for a long time, and now attracts tourists. It has recently undergone a renovation, with rooms and towers restored. The history of the fort and the surrounding areas is closely related to the history of the Second World War here in the Alps.

And not far from Ogi are the medieval towers of Torri di Fraele - an expressive monument of history. Until recently, these were the most advanced military outposts in the defense of the city of Bormio.
