The palace is the official summer residence of the President of the Philippines, located in the city of Baguio. The imposing palace building was built in 1908 at the insistence of former Governor General William Cameron Forbes as a summer residence. He also gave her the name in honor of his estate in the American state of New England. During the Second World War, the Palace was seriously damaged and was almost completely rebuilt in 1947. Since then, it houses the working office of the country's president during his visits to Baguio.

Over the years, various international events took place in the palace building, for example, in 1947 a meeting of the UN Economic Council for Asia and the Far East was held here, in 1948 - a meeting of the UN World Agricultural Organization, and in 1950 there was a meeting of the members of the Union of Southeast Asian Nations, better known as the Baguio Conference. On the territory of the Palace, thematic international conferences are regularly held.

The Palace consists of a main building, built on a grand scale, and a more modest guest house. The main gate is said to be cast in iron after the pattern of the main gate of Buckingham Palace in London. It is, of course, impossible to get to the Palace for an ordinary tourist, but you can visit the small palace museum, which keeps the personal belongings of former Filipino presidents.
