Lake Corbara, born from the construction of a 641-meter dam on the Tiber River in the 1960s, is 30 to 40 meters deep and has a surface area of 10-13 sq. km. It is located between the Umbrian cities of Orvieto and Todi. Over 40 years of its existence, the lake has turned into a charming resting place, now located on the territory of the Tiber River Natural Park, which occupies a long strip of land along the river and around the lake. Thanks to its nature conservation status, all conditions have been created here for the development of tourism that does not violate the well-being of the environment.

The road around Lake Corbara, leading from Orvieto to Todi, is very picturesque, as it now and then dives into the wooded gorges that stretch along the Tiber. The name of the lake comes from the name of the small village of Corbara, part of the Orvieto commune, whose history dates back to the 13th century.

Today this idyllic landscape has become a favorite vacation spot among fans of ecological tourism and active sports. Here you can go rafting or rowing, canoeing, explore the many caves and grottoes, or just go fishing. The contrast between the calm waters of the lake and the vertical cliffs along its shores make Corbara ideal for rock climbers and water sports enthusiasts, while the little-known labyrinth of caves will appeal to even the most sophisticated cavers. In the center of Salviano, you can rent all the necessary equipment for rowing and canoeing.

Not far from Lake Corbara are the Sette Frati (Seven Brothers) and Villalba Protected Areas with kilometers of hiking trails and picnic areas. Sette Frati lies closer to the Tiber and covers an area of 25 hectares at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level - from here a magnificent view of the entire river valley opens. Local forests are home to a huge number of plants and animals, some of which are rare. For example, there are deer-muntzhaks - endemic to this area.

Villalba, also covering an area of 25 hectares and located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, lies next to the Monte Rufeno nature reserve in Lazio, with which it is connected by hiking trails.
