Photo and description

Lake Todos los Santos is located in the Los Lagos region of southern Chile. Translated from Spanish, the name of the lake sounds like `` Lake of All Saints ''. It is located about 95 km from the town of Puerto Montt and 75 km from Puerto Varas and borders the Vincente Perez Rosales National Park.

The lake has a surface area of 178.5 square kilometers and a depth of 337 meters. Status The national park has ensured the protection of the lake's environment. This form of the lake is obtained as a result of glacial and volcanic processes.

The main tributary of the lake is the Peulla River and the Rio Negro River, near the Peulla area. Its outflow is the Petroue River, with an average outflow of 270 cubic meters per second.

The coastal boat provides a ferry for tourists between the towns of Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas in Chile and San Carlos de Bariloche and Nahuel Huapi in Argentina. There are two main lake ports on the shores of Lake Todos los Santos: Petroue in the western part and Peulla in the eastern part, but there is no usual road connecting these places.

The lake is surrounded by steep mountains - these are three snow-capped peaks, famous volcanoes: Osorno (2652 m) in the west, Puntiagudo Cordon (2493 m) in the north and Tronador (3491 m) in the east.

In the past, this lake was known by various names: Purailla, Pichilauquen, Quechocavi. If you look at the lake or take pictures of its magnificent landscapes, the water surface glows with an amazing bluish-green tint with a silvery glow.

The lake is surrounded by abundant vegetation of mixed Valdive forests, and salmon and trout live in the reservoir, which is ideal for fishing enthusiasts. You can also take a boat ride on the lake, or take oars and canoe, or you can just relax and swim in its warm and clean waters.
