The A. Solovyanenko Opera House of Donetsk was built according to the project of L. Kotovsky in 1941, on the eve of the war. This monumental building was erected in the spirit of the then inherent socialist realism and crowned with heavy bas-reliefs and a very voluminous sculpture.

The building of this theater itself is executed in a classical style. The approaches to the theater building are located from three sides. As for the auditorium and the theater itself from the inside, both the walls and the ceilings are adorned with magnificent decorations - stucco and gilding. Since 1993, the theater has hosted a famous international festival, which is called “Stars of the World Ballet”. Its founder and artistic director is the Ukrainian People's Artist V.
