The Temple of Notre Dame de Misericorde (Our Lady of Mercy), commonly known as Cathedral of Cotonou, is a Roman Catholic church. It is located near the Ancienne Pont (Old Bridge) bridge.

A distinctive feature of the architecture of the cathedral is the stripes of white and red ceramic tiles, which are used throughout the entire building. Inside, the striped style is supported by the beige and brown arches above the benches. There is a turret near the rear end wall of the building.

The Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cotonou. The diocese was established on June 26, 1883 in the Apostolic Prefecture of Dahomey and was subordinate to the Apostolic Vicar of Benin and the coast of Nigeria. After the country was renamed on September 14, 1955, the vicar was appointed & nbsp;
