Photo and description
Montenegro is a fairly young country. It gained independence only in the early 90s, when the country left the communist Yugoslavia.
Montenegro was first part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, then a part of the Union of Serbia with Montenegro, and then, already in 2006, Montenegro began to function as a separate state. It was then that a president appeared in the country, who, as you know, should have a residence at his disposal.
Due to the fact that when the country gained independence, it was decided to move the capital from Podgorica to Cetinje, initially the cabinet The President was located in the building of the management of the Obod plant.
Then, in the summer of 2010, the status of the official residence directly for the head of state, the President of Montenegro, was assigned to the Blue or Blue Palace, which was erected at the end of the 19th century for the son of King Nikola, named Danilo and who is the heir to the throne.
The design of this palace was carried out by the best architects from Italy and Montenegro. At that time, during construction, the palace was equipped with all the newest progressive devices: a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a little later electricity was also installed there. In 2006, the building underwent a complete restoration, in which significant support was provided by the Government of Norway.
Today the owner of the Blue Palace is the President of Montenegro, who has been in office since 2003, Philip Vujanovic.
