The Church of the Holy Trinity is located just two stops from the central Taxco de Alarcon square between de Cenobscuros and Miguel Hidalgo streets, a few meters from Vincente Guerrero Park. The church is small and is often referred to as a chapel in local tourist brochures. It is believed that this church was built in the 16th century and was first consecrated in honor of the Power of God. During the reconstruction of the temple in the 18th century, the restorers were able to preserve its previous original structure. Also, attentive travelers will notice decorative elements dating back to the 16th century on the facades of the Holy Trinity Church. This allows us to conclude that the Holy Trinity Chapel is one of the oldest temples in Taxco de Alarcon.

This church, surrounded by thick walls, in which arched gates are equipped, is practically not used in local bright sacred holidays, festivals, such as, for example, the neighboring chapel of San Nicolai Tolentino. Only during Easter week, on the Day of the Holy Trinity, a festive procession takes place around the church, the participants of which carry various sculptures, including the image of the Holy Trinity.

The chapel contains several large statues of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and the saints, made by local craftsmen in past centuries. For example, the figure of the Crucified Christ was made more than 150 years ago and is considered the oldest statue of its kind in Taxco. These sculptures are kept in glass cases for a whole year, and on church holidays they are removed for solemn ceremonies and processions.
