The Kotka Aeronautics Museum is located in the hangar of Kymi Airport next to the runway. Thanks to the Karhula flying club, 15 planes on display in the museum, including rare ones, are kept in working order.

The Gloucester Gauntlet fighter is the only aircraft in the world during World War II that is fully operational and is still since then it flies several times a year. The collection also includes a light attack aircraft, a supersonic fighter-bomber, a glider, a miniature single-seat helicopter, and others.

Small private planes soar up from the museum along the runway passing by. Nearby is a monument to military pilots who died during the Second World War.

The museum is open from May to September. Admission is free, however
