Photo and descriptionThe N. Vaptsarov House-Museum is located in the central part of Bansko. The city was the birthplace of the poet, who was born here in 1909, and the poet lived in the house where the museum is now located since 1912. Over the entire period of its existence, the building was reconstructed three times: 1960, 1979 and 1992. Today this object is included in the list of historical cultural monuments of a nationwide scale, as well as among hundreds of national tourist sites in Bulgaria. The museum is dedicated to the life and career of the famous Bulgarian writer and war hero. Nikola was shot by the fascist invaders because of his revolutionary activities, which in particular manifested itself in the poems of the patriotic poet. In 1952 he was posthumously awarded the International Peace Prize. Vaptsarov became the first Bulgarian, awarded this honor. The house-museum has gathered under one roof a surprisingly rich ethnographic collection, which contains information about the life and work of the poet: the first published manuscripts, documents, photographs, costumes and even a wristwatch that the poet wore for some time before the execution. The museum is divided into three functional parts: a hall in which the main exhibition is located, and two video halls for 40 people, where you can listen to the poet's lyrics, lectures in Bulgarian, English, Russian and French languages.
