Photo and description

The oldest district of Bremen - Schnoor - in the Middle Ages was a street of sailors, craftsmen and dock workers. Houses of the 15th-18th centuries are located here so close to each other, as if they were tied onto a cord. This quarter narrowly escaped destruction and began to restore it in 1958.

In the center of the quarter, there is a small Gothic Franciscan church with a decorative pediment, arched niches and herringbone brickwork. The Toy Museum is located nearby.

There are many antique shops, art workshops and restaurants, cafeterias and souvenir shops in Shnoor. Here is the smallest hotel in Germany, consisting of three rooms.
