The Northern Maritime Museum of the city of Arkhangelsk was opened in 1990. The museum's exhibits tell about the history of navigation and shipbuilding in the North of Russia from the 12th to the 20th centuries, tell about the study and development of the Arctic, the flora and fauna of the northern seas. In front of the museum, you can see a small collection of anchors and artillery pieces of the 19th-20th centuries.
