The building of the museum was built by order of Sultan Mehmed II in 1472. The name of the architect who supervised the construction of the building has not survived to this day. The entrance facade of the Museum of Turkish Ceramics is decorated with a marble portico and 14 columns. The interior is decorated with intricate mosaic paintings made of glazed faience.
