The southern outskirts of the settlement adjoin Lake Plesid, in the central part is Lake Mirror Lake, not far from the central street of the village passes. The relief is represented by the Appalachian mountain system. The Winter Olympics of 1932 and 1980 took place on Lake Placid, it became the venue for the Goodwill Games in 2000 year.
