English Maidens Building is one of the landmarks of Sankt Polten, which reveals the former luxury and splendor of the Baroque style. The graceful and lush building resembles a majestic and rich palace of that era.

Today, within the walls of this historic building is the private institute of the Virgin Mary, where a high level of education for students is provided through religious traditions.

English Maidens Building was built in the 18th century as a school for girls from aristocratic families. The building was designed by Jacob Prandtauer. The training center was organized by Mary Ward, an initiator of women's education and a Catholic nun from England. The palace ensemble was rebuilt and expanded many times, but it has well preserved the baroque spirit.

The"English Maidens" building has a light pink facade, which is visually separated by protruding niches in which statues of saints can be seen. The arched entrance doors are framed with magnificent decorative figures of Atlantean angels.

There is a chapel in the building, the interior of which is decorated with frescoes depicting historical scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary, Christ and the Apostles.
