Winter Gardens, Blackpool Resort UK
Rating: 8,5/10 (2475 votes)  Winter Gardens is a large entertainment complex in the center of the British city of Blackpool. The complex includes a theater, a covered gallery, a ballroom, various conference rooms, entertainment venues, casinos, bars and restaurants, etc.
The winter gardens were opened in the 1870s and were completed and expanded with new premises until 1939. The opening ceremony was attended by the Lord Mayor of London and mayors of 68 of the largest cities in the UK.
Today, the Winter Gardens complex houses one of the largest theater halls in all of Britain - an opera hall for three thousand people, built by the author of the Grand Theater and the Ballroom of the Blackpool Tower, Frank Matcham, opened in 1889. In 1896, the Imperial Ballroom, which hosted the first Blackpool International Dance Festival. Today, various events, congresses of political parties, various competitions, balls and dance competitions are held here. In the shadow of the Winter Gardens Opera House is the Pavilion Places Theater. Its auditorium seats 600 and is one of the nicest and most welcoming in Blackpool. Numerous other halls are used for celebrations, banquets and weddings, concerts of famous bands.
