The bridge is a work of Dutch colonial architecture, and the fact that this work is extremely old is visible to the naked eye, even though the Chicken Market is currently restored and included in the list of cultural heritage of Jakarta. Initially, the bridge was made as a drawbridge, now the mechanisms do not work, but, nevertheless, it will undoubtedly be of interest to a historian or mechanic. Once there was a large bird market near Chicken Market, which gave the name to the bridge. Over the centuries, Chicken Market has witnessed almost all important historical events in Indonesia, therefore, despite its unprepossessing appearance, the bridge is loved and revered by the locals. For tourists, the Chicken Market remains nothing more than a curious attraction, which, unfortunately, will not be easy for a person unaccustomed to living in Indonesia.
