The Hamburg Fish Market is nowadays not so much a trading place as a real event. The market has existed here for over 300 years. Even in those distant times, fishermen were allowed to trade before the beginning of church services, these traditions have been preserved in our time. Every day, as soon as the sun barely begins to appear over the harbor, masses of merchants flock to the market, wanting to take the best places in the marketplace.

At five o'clock in the morning on Sundays, sellers begin to call their buyers. Here fish is sold in different types – fresh, smoked, dried, dried. In addition to fish, the market also offers fresh fruits and vegetables at competitive prices, as well as cheeses, sausages, flowers and sweets brought from various countries.

The square also houses the old building of the Fish Market, which impresses with its massive structure. A cozy restaurant is located on the second floor of the building.
