Photo and description

In the suburb of the wonderful Crimean city of Bakhchisaray, there is a mausoleum of Dyurbe Khadzhi-Girey. It is located on the territory of a hospital for the mentally ill, not far from the station. The Zinjirli spiritual school settled down next to the mausoleum. The location of the mausoleum is explained by the fact that once upon a time there was a khan's palace on this territory, and only two of these buildings remained from it, later completely rebuilt.

Translated from the Tatar " dyurbe " means mausoleum. By its appearance, Dyurbe resembles an octagon with a gabled roof. The roof of the mausoleum is covered with tiles. The portal is one of the decorations of Dyurbe, it protrudes quite strongly over the entire structure. Different columns are also decorations. At the entrance to the mausoleum, you can see the inscription: "Help from God is a quick victory", and not far from the entrance there is a slab with the date of construction and information about the founder written on it.

The Mausoleum was built in 1501. Mengli-Girey ordered to build it in memory of his father Hadji-Girey. Also, Mengli-Girei himself eternal rest in this mausoleum. Another eighteen people are buried in the Dyurba mausoleum, all of them came from khan families.

This mausoleum is considered an architectural monument. But at the moment the mausoleum is half destroyed, although this does not prevent researchers from working within its walls. Quite recently, all the Crimean newspapers began to publish articles about the unique textiles found there. It was found by employees of the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography. This antique fabric is damaged by high moisture and fungus. There have already been suggestions to create a special group, which will study and reconstruct this tissue, since it is very important for the study of history.
