St. Peter's Basilica in Indonesia, Java Resort
Rating: 8,5/10 (2930 votes)  St. Peter's Basilica is located in Indonesia, on the island of Java, in the fourth most populous city in the country, Bandung. Church of St. Peter was built in 1922 on the site of the Cathedral of Saint Francis, which appeared in Bandung much earlier - in 1895. The church was designed and built in neo-gothic style by famous architect, sculptor and painter Charles Wolf Shoemaker - a native of Java, descended from a Dutch family and who is the author of almost all known buildings of Bandung. During its existence, St. Peter's Basilica served Cathedral of three Catholic structures: Apostolic Prefecture from 1932 year, the apostolic vicariate since 1941 and, finally, the diocese since 1961.
