He wrote it in 1586. This work of his never left the walls of this church, as it was written especially for it. The basis of this painting is – burial of the Count of Orgaz by Saint Stephen and Saint Augustine. In addition to them, the picture depicts people of that time. El Greco and his son are depicted on the left side of the picture.
