The Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery is a shopping arcade in the city of Milan, named after the ruler Vittorio Emanuele II. The gallery connects the square in front of the Teatro alla Scala with a square in front of the Milan Cathedral.

The gallery was erected in 1865-1877, the project was directed by the architect Giuseppe Mengoni. During the construction, the architect died after falling from the scaffolding.

The gallery was created in the form of a Latin cross with a center in the shape of an octagon. The central part of the building was decorated with mosaics depicting four continents, as well as allegorical images of agriculture, art, industry and science.

Nowadays, the gallery is one of the most popular tourist sites in the city, especially among shoppers.   There are numerous shops, restaurants and cafes here. Also, the gallery often hosts exhibitions and concerts.
