Calanche de Piana is a typical Corsican village located between the bays of Porto and Piana. The area is famous for the many red granite rocks located there. These rocks are notable for the that each of them is crowned with peaks of bizarre shapes. They reach a height of about 300 meters.
Otherwise, these natural structures are called fjords. The terrain is similar in shape to a deep valley with steep slopes.
Fjords in the rays of the sun are colored in a red fiery light. Granite rocks are distinguished by their intricate contours: for many centuries the rocks have been exposed to wind, water and sun, which have created amazing curves and shapes.
