The Grib synagogue in Riyadh is located a few kilometers from the city of Houmt Suk. This synagogue is over 2000 years old. It is considered the oldest synagogue in Africa.

The Grib synagogue is the site of pilgrimage for many Tunisian Jews who come here on the 33rd day after Easter. Around the synagogue there are premises that are intended for visitors. A large wooden door with metal rivets leads into a rectangular hall, which is lined with blue tiles.    

One of the main Jewish artifacts, a Torah scroll, is kept in the synagogue, as well as in its walls. the relics of Shimon Bar Yaskhai is one of the authors of the Talmud.

There is a legend that the Mushroom synagogue was built on the spot where the Paradise stone fell. And it is believed that when the last Jew leaves the island of Djerba, the keys to the synagogue will return to paradise.
