Observatory in France, Nice resort
Rating: 7,5/10 (100 votes)  Observatory – Nice Observatory, located on top of the imposing Mont Grosse mountain in the suburbs. The idea to build a city observatory belonged to the banker Raphael Bischoffsheim. He put forward his proposal in 1870. The building was designed by Charles Garnier and the main dome was designed by Gustave Eiffel. In 1888, the largest (at that time) 76-cm refractor telescope was placed in the observatory.
