The Church of St. Catherine is located next to the Church of St. Mark. It was built at the beginning of the 17th century and is considered one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Zagreb. In 1645 and 1674, the church was damaged by fires, then several times it was destroyed by earthquakes, but was later restored. The interior of the temple has survived to this day in the Baroque style, in relatively good condition.

Now the church of St. Catherine is a structure with a snow-white facade, which is decorated with sculptures. Above the main entrance there is a statue of St. Catherine.

Inside the church there are 6 side chapels, which contain 5 baroque wooden altars (17th century) and one marble (18th century). The interior of the church is decorated with frescoes dating from the 17th century. Above the central altar there is a painting depicting St. Catherine and the philosophers from Alexandria.

There used to be a monastery complex behind the church building, which now houses an art gallery. Currently, the building of the current gallery and church often hosts classical music concerts.
