National History Museum in Bulgaria, Sofia Resort

In 1984, the first museum exposition was presented in honor of the 1300th anniversary of the Bulgarian state. Since 2000, the museum has been located in the building of the `` Boyana '' residence in the city of Sofia. Today, the museum displays about 650 000 exhibits, the most valuable of which are collections of finds from the Paleolithic times to the Middle Ages, discovered during archaeological excavations. Here you can also see collections of old coins, household items, heraldic symbols, church utensils, weapons, maps, stamps and historical photographs. The museum is divided into several departments – history, archeology and ethnography.
