Wax Museum (Museu de Cera) in Spain, Barcelona resort
Rating: 8,3/10 (475 votes)  This museum is located in a 19th century building, at the very end of the Ramblas. The founder of the museum is the renowned filmmaker Enrique Alarcon. It was he who created here a performance of 300 wax figures constantly changing. The characters presented in the museum are difficult to recognize by their faces, however, it is very easy to recognize by the general atmosphere and clothes. If you go through the courtyard and turn towards the cashier, you can get into a small an annex, which houses an exhibition with exclusive figures from the history of Hollywood. The main part of the museum is located in a building with a high facade. This early Art Nouveau building was rebuilt several times. Now it is decorated from the inside with paintings of ceilings and walls. The tour of the museum starts from the first floor. There, guests are greeted by two figures of Pope John Paul II. Behind them are the figures of political and artistic figures of the past, among them Chopin, P. Casals, Georges Sand and others. Next are the fairy-tale characters, and after them the dictators: Mao Zedong, Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, etc. The world of music is represented by Maria Callas, Placido Domingo, Ludwig van Beethoven, Richard Wagner and other famous composers and singers. The viewing of these figures is accompanied by appropriate music. Further you can see famous writers and artists, as well as some heroes of works. On the second floor there are figures of movie stars, knights and rulers from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. There are also figures of famous athletes. In the basement is the Fantastic Journey section. Through an underwater tunnel, museum guests enter a magical world: caves with ancient people, decks of sailing ships, space travel and science fiction monsters.
