Church of Mary Triumphant in the Czech Republic, Prague spa
Rating: 7,5/10 (100 votes)  The Church of Mary Triumphant, located in the Mala Strana district of Prague, is directly related to the history of the city itself. In fact, it is the first Baroque church in Prague built for German Lutherans in 1613. In 1620, at the end of the Battle of White Mountain, the temple was handed over to the Carmelites as a token of gratitude for the victory. At that time, restoration work was carried out here, during which the external appearance of the church was rebuilt in the Baroque style. In 1628, Polyxenia of Lobkowicz presented a wax image of the Child Jesus as a gift to the church. According to the legend, the Prague Infant Jesus possesses a unique gift of healing. They also say that it was thanks to this wax image that the city was protected from plague and destruction during the Thirty Years War. Today the church organizes an exhibition of gifts presented to the Infant Jesus for many centuries. One of the most valuable exhibits is a dress embroidered by Maria Teresa.
