Church of St. Marina in Bulgaria, Plovdiv resort
Rating: 7,8/10 (1034 votes)  The construction of St. Marina Church was started in 1853 and completed in 1854. The temple was built in the Byzantine style. The building material was rough stone, due to which the building is given a medieval look. Many craftsmen took part in the construction of the building. In 1870, a five-story wooden bell tower was built on the north side. The tower is 17 meters high. The interior of the church is decorated with magnificent carvings. Here you can see the episcopal throne, a beautiful iconostasis and a pulpit. The iconostasis was made of walnut. Several painters took part in its creation, fantastic creatures and biblical scenes were depicted here.
