Wide wall in Israel, Jerusalem resort
Rating: 9,0/10 (6059 votes)  The wide wall of Jerusalem was erected as a defensive structure in the 8th century BC. This wall was ordered to be built by the thirteenth king of Judea – Ezekiah. A wide wall united the City of David with suburban settlements. Due to the aggravated threat of Assyrian attacks at that time, the wall was built very quickly, if not hastily. For its construction, the stones of the destroyed nearby houses were used. The wall has not preserved its integrity to this day. However, its ruins are of certain interest for tourists wishing to get acquainted with this ancient historical monument dating back to the era of the First Temple.
