Numerous Ottoman raids on Montenegro in the Middle Ages have left their mark on the architecture of the city. One example is the Turkish clock tower located in the central part of Podgorica, on the territory of the former fortress of Stara Varos. This building, along with the city's mosques, serves as an excellent example of 15th century Turkish architecture.
