Agiofaraggo gorge in Greece, Heraklion resort
Rating: 7,9/10 (4345 votes)  This gorge is located between the village of Kali Limnes and the Odigitria monastery. The temple of Agia Antony is located in the gorge. The temple is partially located in a cave. For a long time it was the main regional center of hermits. Some objects found in the gorge confirm that people lived here already in Minoan times – a Minoan domed tomb was found near the church. Many hermits lived in the caves of the gorge. It is believed that Agiofaraggo has been inhabited since the 11th century.
