Rating: 7,9/10 (4059 votes) This museum is located on Knights Street, in the building of the so-called New Hospital of the Johannites. It was built in the 15th century. Grand Master Jean de Lastic began the construction of this hospital in 1440, but it was completed only under Pierre de Aubusson in 1489. The museum exhibits exhibits from antiquity and the Middle Ages: sculptures of Aphrodite, Rhodes ceramics, the tombstone of the fifth century BC, knightly stone coats of arms. Some exhibits cannot be photographed. These include the most valuable treasure of the museum – the head of the god Helios. In the courtyard you can see an antique lion statue, as well as a pyramid of stone cores, which has remained here since 305 BC – from the siege of the city by Demetrius Poliorketes.
