The construction of the Krumlov synagogue was funded by the local Jewish community in 1909. The building was made in the neo-Romanesque style and was complemented by an eight-sided tower.

In 1908 L. Spiro – a rabbinical student and paper mill owner, together with other successful Jewish businessmen, financed the construction of the synagogue. The construction was completed in 1909. The building was erected towards Jerusalem. With its colored windows and deep blue ceilings, the synagogue was to become a significant city landmark.

In 1945, the synagogue was used as a Christian church for American soldiers. which is reminded by the preserved symbol of the American army on the wall of the prayer hall. In 1945-1968, the temple was used by the Hussite Church of Czechoslovakia. The building is not operational these days.
