Church of the Ascension of Christ (Holy Savior) in Bulgaria, resort of Nessebar
Rating: 7,8/10 (1900 votes)  The Church of the Ascension of Christ was built in 1609 during the Turkish yoke. At the request of the authorities, during construction, the church was half buried in the ground. Moreover, the temple did not have a bell tower and a dome, and outwardly did not differ from other buildings in the city. Some of the frescoes on the walls inside the temple have survived to this day.
