Rating: 7,7/10 (404 votes) Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is a Catholic church and cathedral of the Diocese of Brno, located in the city of Brno. Nowadays, the temple is also a national monument of the Czech Republic and an important architectural monument of South Moravia. The construction of the cathedral was carried out in 1296 in the Romanesque style. In December 1777 the Holy See established the Diocese of Brno and the Church of Saints Peter and Paul became the cathedral of the Diocese. In the XIX – XX centuries, the temple has undergone a number of changes, and as a result acquired a neo-Gothic appearance. The interior of the church is predominantly Baroque. In 1904-1905, two towers were erected, reaching a height of 84 meters.
