Rating: 8,9/10 (1987 votes) The Church of Santa Maria del Giglio is a baroque church in Venice. In the 10th century, the Slavic Giubanico family organized a special collection fund funds for the construction of a new church. A distinctive feature of the church – a beautiful facade dedicated to Antonio Barbaro and his family by the architect Giuseppe Sardi. Between the columns in the niches, statues of the Barbaro brothers were installed. Nowadays, the temple houses a small museum displaying paintings by Tintoretto and the painting The Holy Family attributed to Rubens.
