The village-museum of Arbanassi, located on a high plateau, today is a real open-air museum. During the period of the Ottoman yoke, the village was exempted from taxes, due to   with which a rather unique architectural development has developed here.

The village consists of wealthy solid households, which have survived to our time in their original form. Half of these houses today are cultural monuments of national importance. You should definitely visit the Church of the Nativity of Christ, built in   XVIII century, which contains unique frescoes depicting Christ surrounded by Plato, Socrates, Homer and Aristotle.

Arbanassi is one of the most picturesque villages in Bulgaria. Stone fences, curving narrow streets and shady courtyards give the village a special atmosphere.
